Marathon Accomplished

What a dream come true! I ran my very first marathon on my birthday! It was awesome! It was fun until mile 22 when my body decided it was done and was not going to run the last four I was like you got to be kidding me! I finished the race. I ran with all I had. I got blisters to prove it and I lost a toe nail a week later. It was so great to do it on my 24th birthday! I lived the dream, Some lady walked the last 4 miles with me. She was complaining about how bad her legs hurt and in my head I was like I feel ya I feel ya! Everything was great until Sunday when the pain set in and I had to go to church and I was not going to wear flip flops to church! Everyone asked what I did and I was like I ran a marathon. Monday was the worst. I went to school with a mighty good limp. Everyone looked at me funny I didn't care. It was a great adventure!
I love to run but marathons not my forte but a half is for sure. I will continue to run and live the dream everyday. Marathons are hard but they are worth it. I am so glad I had the courage to start and the determination to finish. It would of been so easy to quit but there is the inner voice that says my mom didn't raise a quitter. I may never be fast enough for Boston and that is totally fine with me. I run because it helps me make it through the day and the week. I run my worries away I do my best thinking out there. I run to feel the wind in my hair. To run my struggles away. I run to calm my fears.
People think I am crazy and that is okay. I don't do it for you I do it for myself, I do it for the adrenaline I do it for the feeling of accomplishment. I do it to prove to myself nothing is impossible! Running is a way of life. It doesn't matter if you win it just matters if you finish the race! Race days are fun you meet many new people and sometimes run into old friends.
Life is hard at time and when it gets hard run! Run with all you have! I have come to learn the running can make a bad day good and a good day better. It has the possibility to make  anything better. A few scrapped knees and blisters never hurt anyone!
RUN HARD! DREAM BIG! NEVER LOSE SIGHT OF YOUR DREAMS!! Keep the faith! Peace out cub scout!

Blessings, Tender Mercies!

What a weekend I have had. Homework most of it done, lagoon with my family and best friend, then my car exploded.
I go home on the weekends to work at the bakery. I love it there! The people and the place itself. I came home Sunday morning so I could go try my new ward out. I was driving like usual. Nothing new then all of the sudden I could smell burning rubber didn't think much of it. Got to the driveway of my aunt and uncles and then the problems began. My car was smoking! I called my uncle Spencer and asked if it was normal he asked if it was steam I said I don't think so. (I know the difference between steam and smoke) I opened the hood and what did I see a broken belt and smoke! I called my dad and he came to look at it.
My dad took it to the shop and now here we are. Riding the front runner living the dream. I remember when waking up at 4:45 wasn't a big deal now I have a hard time getting out of bed at 5:21. I get to wake up earlier so I can make it to the train so I can get to school on time and find the right bus to get on.
As I think of the experience of having my car exploded. It could of been so much worse my mom has told me how lucky I was to have been in the driveway and it is true. I could of been on the freeway and it could of started are fire. All it was, was a broken belt and A/C. It will cost money to fix but my parents always tell me cars are replaceable and I am not.
I have learned this week to count my blessings. It maybe a struggle to live the dream car less but at least I know my Father in heaven loves me because it happened when I was safe. I know that the little things in life mean the most.
I am so blessed to have a dad who is a mechanic and know what to do when a car decides to smoke and a lawn mower loses its guts. I have seen the tender mercies of the Lord this week in my life. I have had people offer to give me rides and help me out. I have seen how many people car because it has happened to them in similar ways or just because they truly care. I have seen the pure love of Christ in my aunt and uncle this week to. To see how much the love me and care about me. I know it is a joke not having a car but they are troopers.
I am truly blessed to have had this experience and to learn more about myself. I have learned how to get on a bus and figure out where to go. I still can't read a map but I can read times.
Blessings and Tender Mercies are everywhere we just need to look for them in our lives.
Have a wonderful week. Until next time! Peace out Cub Scout.

KARA IS AWESOME!

What a week sometimes people ask me what I have been up to and I always say just living the dream doing what I do best! Now I am going to school and trying to live the dream! My life where I live is AWESOME! It is living the dream everyday. It has amazing trails to run on and great company. I live with my Aunt, Uncle, cousins Kayla and Kara who is AMAZING!
Kara can burp the ABC's I came home from school around 7:30 pm like it is on Tuesdays nothing new and then we had dinner and oh man Kara can burp on command! She needs to meet my best friend Kim!
I love Kara so much she makes my heart so happy! I think it is so awesome that she can burp on command. My mom told me not to pick up that habit. Kara just turned 18 and she is even more awesome! I love that girl so much!
Kayla is pretty great to! She burps sometimes and its not as cool as Kara but one day it will be. She is pretty great she lives in the basement with me. We have some good times!
Anatomy is kicking my butt I am doing the best I can and as long as I pass that is all that matters. Math is a joke my teacher is not the best but what can ya do. You win some and you lose some.
I got my phone fixed 2.5 hours later. I sat at the version store waiting for them to fix it I did my homework I got more done there then I do at school. It was funny to see the workers faces when I sat there and did anatomy and math. I should of asked them for help. Haha that would of been great. I went to open lab for anatomy and it was great I got all my homework done for the next week. It is rough but I think I will be able to make it.
Living the dream, one adventure at a time! Until next time! Peace out cub scout!

It takes a Special Person to be a Teacher!

Why does something that felt so right, feel so wrong?
I knew I was supposed to go to UVU and it is a fine school but I feel like it isn't the place for me I am working hard but its like professors don't care they just want their paycheck. Teachers make a huge difference in peoples lives. I know that not because I was raised by one.
Over the years I have had many teachers some better than others. As I sit in my math class I think of how he doesn't care about his students and how if he just showed a little love to his students more would pass his class. I think of all the amazing teachers I have had and that have made a change in my life for the better. They all have had a special part in my life, they have changed it for the better!
I have had some amazing ones in my life. As I sit in math I think of a wise math teacher who taught me songs about math. I think about it when I am reviewing the concepts. They come back into my mind and I remember what I learned when I was in 10th grade and that was back in 2007. He had so much love for his students and how he always made us feel important. He always would ask us how we were doing and made us feel like we mattered he never once made us feel stupid for asking questions.
Another example is my cross country coach who would do anything for anyone. He is truly a loving man. He always believes in his runners he doesn't care if you are a fast runner he just cares if you finish and do your best. He treats you like family.
The most important teacher I have had in my life have been my parents. My mom has helped us with our homework ever since I can remember she would sit down with us and we would work together. she doesn't do math but my dad does. She helps us with our papers for school even in college. She helps us reach our dreams. She drops everything for us. When it is an emergency on our part she stops everything to help us figure out what is wrong and we get through it. I see how she has made a difference in the lives of the students that she has taught I know she may not see it but one comes over every Halloween to see her. They talk to her in the grocery store. My mom makes them feel like they are the only person in the world. She loves them as her own. She treats them like she would her own kids she doesn't give my brother or I special treatment when it comes to school. She taught us how to never give up and to follow our dreams. She is an amazing lady! I am so lucky to call her my mom! I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for her. She is the most amazing lady I know! I love her so very much!
Then the next teacher would be my dad he helped us with math, chemistry. He taught me how to mow a lawn, drive a car and to wear sneakers when I mow. It may seem silly to you but they are some big things. I love my dad so much! I am so blessed to have him in my life!
I think of all the times that I have needed help in school and who were the ones who came to the rescue?! Mom and dad! They are truly my heroes!
I then start to think about why I changed my major to nursing from teaching. Not because I don't want to teach but I know nursing is where I need to be why I will never know but one day I will. I know that they are both good fields and they change peoples lives if you let it. It takes a special person to be a teacher.
I know that teachers are amazing people! I am so blessed to say I was raised by one because she has changed my life and has given me the best life I could of ever asked for. She has taught me it is important to get an education. That is what I am doing know matter how hard and how much I want to give up! The struggle is real but with faith and family anything is possible. I know that if we put all are trust in the lord we can accomplish anything. True story I served a mission I know anything is possible with Christ. I am so thankful for the knowledge I have of this gospel and to know that everything will happen in his time. Trusting him in all that we do is the best thing we can ever do. Heavenly Father is always there for us just like are family. We can be million miles away or just a 100 but we are never to far from our Heavenly Father he is just want for us to come to him in pray. We need to go to heaven mart and trust that things will work out for the best!

Heavenly Father helps us with our Struggles.

Today as I come and blog. I am a little discouraged not because life is hard because it is. But because I have never had trouble making friends until now, I moved to American Fork to go to school, hoping to make some friends because I left all my friends behind in Brigham as I have done many times before. This time has been different I am like invisible to these people I don't get noticed in the hall which is fine, just another person in class who the professor doesn't really care about. I have no friends here. As I sit here thinking about that I think about my brother who went on an adventure of a lifetime this summer in Alaska. He had no friends for 4 months and all I could think about was how when I was on my mission he told me to suck it up butter cup. So me being the sister that I am I told him that not once did I think about how he felt how lonely he truly was. As I sit here lonely and overwhelmed I think of my brother who kept going. He never gave up because my mom didn't raise quitters. He work to the end yes it was hard but was it worth it! You better believe it was.
Starting school all alone is no fun when you have no interaction with people, you hide in your room and just cry for it to be over. You wake up another day and start the same fight again. Until one day you are crying and thinking no one can hear you then it hits you. Heavenly Father can see your tears and hear your cries. I got down on my knees and I pleaded with my Heavenly Father not to make my life easier but to help me understand the concepts at school to find a friend and to not be so lonely. Classes were a little easier a girl talked to me today and was nice to me. We may just be acquaintances but at least I had a person talk to me and I wasn't invisible to them. I know that my Heavenly Father answers prayer because I know he answers the prayers to a worried mother in the night, to a helpless soul who is scared and doesn't know what to do he listens. He comforts them. He hears every plead for help and sees every tear. Never give up because he hasn't given up on you so why should we give up on ourselves.
The quote "When Life Gets to Hard to Stand Kneel." Its true because sometimes the only place we can go is to our knees, he is the only one who knows how we truly feel. He bled from every pore for us he die on Calvary for us! He knew that is what he needed to do. He felt everything we feel he knows everything about us. He still loves us even when we feel alone and lonely. He will always pick us up when we fall. He will always be there no matter what. It is like Hymn 193 "I Stand All Amazed" I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me. Confused at the grace that so fully he proffers me. I tremble to know that for me he was crucified, that for me a sinner he suffered he bled and died. Oh it is wonderful that he should care for me enough to die for me. Oh it is wonderful, wonderful to me!
Keep the faith and keep going! Pray to Heavenly Father. He will be there always. He loves you more than you can comprehend. Nothing is impossible as long as we have him on our side.
Keep the Faith! Over and Out! You will always be LOVED!

What an AMAZING Summer couldn't of asked for anything better!

My Work Family!

What a Summer of adventures! Disneyland, Lava Hot Springs, Wedding reception with Quinn, Yellowstone. Adventures all around. Summer where to begin. It was my first summer home from the mission. I had so many things I wanted to accomplish and I did just that. I went to Disneyland with my family and got to spend time with them. Laughing riding rides and just being a little kid again. No worries in the world.
I worked at the bakery the Old Grist Mill. I love that place so much it has brought me so much happiness in my life. It taught me how to be happy by placing lots of amazing people in my life. Like Jynette, Haylee, Niccole, Missy, TiA, James and Quinn just to name a few.
First I want to start off with Jynette I love this girl so very much she has because one of my best friends she taught me what it was like to have a real friend. She is always there. We went to Lava Hot Springs and it was so much fun we got sunburned but we had a blast running up the stairs to the slides. Tubing down the river. What adventures we have had! I love her she makes me so happy.
Secondly, we have Haylee who is just awesome! She is so funny and loving. We go to Swig and deliver cookies to our friends who could not come with us. She makes me laugh all the time we would scream "Cheese Grill" across the store and only we knew why it was so funny or "Peppa Jack" my first week of work I couldn't remember the cheeses so I was naming them off and instead of Pepper Jack it was Peppa Jack. She is a cute little spunky girl.
Third, we have Niccole and Missy and they are just great! They make me laugh so hard when they are together. They like to sew do projects together. They always are there to help you out if you need it they always answer all of your questions no matter how silly. They have the most selfless attitude ever.
Fourth James and Quinn oh how I love these two boys! They are cousins and they are so silly they make any bad day good just by being in it. They are good sports about being sneak attacked well James not so much but Quinn was so great about it. Quinn and I went to a wedding reception for one of my past roommates and it was really fun. It was in the Gardens in Salt Lake. It was so fun to get to know him and to just be a normal person instead of being at work and just doing work things. We talked about our missions. He helped me understand lots of things that have been lacking in my life. He taught me how to love one another and its okay to be a real person. He is a stud.
Fifth we have TiA she is awesome! She started coming to church with me. She is so funny and she dances to the beat of her own drum, She taught me that it doesn't matter as long as you are happy. Nick name is tattoo girl and she knows it to.
I love my work family they have been there for me when I was so bitter and had no one I had them. They took me in as I was and helped me become who I needed to be. They got me already and built of my self esteem and sent me to school. I will go back on weekends. It is a place that makes me so happy. It makes my heart happy when everything else seems to be falling apart.
I am so thankful for the time I had to spend with my family this summer going to Disneyland and Yellowstone. It was so great to be with them as I have been away for quite awhile. They never gave up on me on my mission or will they now.
I moved to school and I am so thankful for all the family time I had. As now I am alone for a week. I have no one but my Heavenly Father. I know that my Heavenly Father loves and is always there for me. He hears my prayers always. He sends me blessings and puts people in my life when I need them the most. I am truly blessed to have such amazing people in my life and to be where I am today. Even though it is hard I know that I can do it because I have Christ on my side and anything is possible with him. Life is hard but we have a Father in heaven who loves us and would do anything for us. All we have to do is pray and talk to him. As we search the scriptures we will be able to find answers as well. Keep the Faith!

Away from Reality for a a few days does the Heart Good!

Me and Stephanie! (Kim's Sister)
Getting Away from Reality for a week!

Getting away for the world in which we live in is hard. I got the opportunity to go and spend sometime with my Best friend and her mom before my best friend got married. It was so awesome I got to go through the temple with her and see her sealed for time and all eternity. She is amazing! I am so thankful that she let me be apart of her special day. We ran errands and got everything ready. Her wedding day was perfect! You know you are at an LDS wedding when you use your food storage as part of the decorations. I loved seeing how happy she is because she hasn't been happy in a long time. She has a cute little step son who is a handful but he is so cute and so polite. She is an amazing person.

It was amazing to see how many people came and supported her in wedding. I got to see some long lost friends. I am so thankful for the opportunity I got to to spend with her while she was single and living the dream. I am so thankful that we were roommates and became best friends. I am so glad she gave me a second chance because the first time she met me I was tired and hungry and we all know the is a bad combination. Kim I love you! You are amazing! You are a beautiful bride!

I got to see my family down in that part of Utah. It was so fun to stay with them and to catch up on old times. I loved being there they welcomed me with open arms. I am so blessed to have them as part of my family! They took me in even late one night when I just couldn't make it home.

I am so blessed for the week I got to spend away from reality it was so fun to just live and not to have to worry about work or life. Just worrying about what I was going to eat for dinner.

Living the life of the dream! Have a wonderful week until next time! Peace Out Cub Scouts!!
