Hello Blogger Fam!
Good Morning Blogger Fam!
I have learned many things this past year. The first thing I want w weeks ago about is an experience I had a few weeks ago. As many of you know when I was a senior in high school I tore the ligaments in my right foot. I ran a track meet on the Thursday and my dad picked me up because it was at Skyview and he works in Hyrum. We went to the grocery store to get milk I said dad my foot hurts he said, Willy it will feel better tomorrow. I was like you are right no big deal I went on limping through the grocery store and then when we got home we did the nightly doings. I woke up the next morning in pain that I had never felt before, went about my day hoping people would not ask me to move. I told my mom at lunch I needed to go to the doctor and when I ask to go to the doctor I am DYING!!!! I never want to go to the doctor. We went a few x-rays later Jill I am sorry to tell you, that your track season is probably over that was the first meet of the season. I said are you sure he said I am sorry your ligaments are torn and they need to heal. Maybe in a few weeks we can try running but I need to make sure they are better. Anyway, they got better I could walk again and life was INCREDIBLE! I have been on so many adventures since then. He always said my foot would ache with the change of the weather but I have not felt the pain that I felt that day in over 10 and a half years.
Two weeks ago December 1, 2020 I was sitting and talking with my roommate and my foot started hurting me being Jill Dallon was like it will feel better in the morning. I went to bed and prayed for a miracle because I knew that without my Heavenly Father's help I wouldn't be able to walk. Did it feel like I could run a marathon? NO! Did it feel like I could work? NO! Did I go to work and pretend everything was fine? YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT! I went to work and limped I tried so hard to walk normal but the pain was winning today. I would hold a desk for a minute until I could bare the pain again. I walked my kids to P.E. then I stopped and asked admin a question. They asked me the question that I had been avoiding all day because I knew the tears would come and they wouldn't stop. I am tough, I have a high pain tolerance. But today the pain had won! They asked me why I was walking funny and the tears streamed down my face as I tried to pretend everything was fine. I told them my foot hurt and they said I will go and get your kids from P.E.. Do you need some ice or anything? Ms. Dallon please just sit and don't walk around we are not mad if you sit today. I knew that sitting meant I had failed my kids, just because I was in pain didn't mean that they didn't need to learn. A kind sir walked up to the side of me at the academic office and started to say my name he saw the tears and he just waited. We then walked down the hall together and he we pretended like I didn't just let my guard down and cry. We chatted I said if you need me I will be in my chair at my desk. I got to my desk and texted him. Not that I had to explain myself to him because I don't but I wanted him to know that I trust him enough to know that I am not okay. He was so kind to me and asked if I needed anything. I learned on those days that it is okay to ask for help because sometimes we all need a little extra love! I emailed admin and apologized for crying. One emailed me back and said Ms. Dallon I knew you were tough but I didn't know you were that tough. I didn't even notice this morning but now it makes sense why squatting to take a picture with your friend was so hard. I learned that admin does care and they want us to succeed even on the hard days when we can't walk. Everyday since one of the admin has asked how my foot is doing. That has meant the world to me because they are very busy ladies and yet she has the time to ask me and to care about my foot.
I realize that day that we are not in the journey we call life alone we have people who care. People who notice and want to help you just have to get off your high horse and ask. I am so thankful that my Heavenly Father loves me enough to have suffered that pain for me and to give it to me so I can learn of his will and not my own. I am so thankful for the days that my foot hurts not because of the pain but because it reminds me of how much my Father in heaven loves me and knows me. He never once has let me down. He sent his son to suffer on the cross for me and for each and everyone of you. I know that he loves me and sometimes I doubt that and then I say Jill he is the one who will always love you even with the mistakes you make. I am so thankful for my Heavenly Father and all he does for me and my family. I am so thankful for all my pains and struggles because I have learned that it is okay to ask for help because we all need it sometimes!
I am so thankful and blessed to know that the life is hard but with the gospel it is a lot easier knowing you don't have to face it alone. I am so thankful for all the wonderful people I have in my life the ones I trust and just the ones that I don't. I am thankful to be me and to live in this crazy time of COVID! Life is a Beautiful thing!
I am off to my next adventure. Until next time Peace Out Cub scout. Work hard, Play harder, RUN YOUR HEART OUT! Never lose sight of the end goal. Keep the Faith! Peace and Love! Over and Out!
